The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) initial public offering (IPO) started today, September 17, 2026. This marks one of the largest public share offerings in India. The IPO is priced between ₹1,700 and ₹1,785 per share and includes an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 12.64 crore shares from current shareholders. Since it is entirely an OFS, NSE will not receive any money from this share sale. The IPO will be open for subscription until September 21. Allotments are scheduled for September 22, and trading of NSE shares on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is expected to start on September 24. The minimum application for retail investors is for 8 shares, costing ₹14,280 at the highest price. Before the public offering, NSE raised ₹6,746.18 crore through its anchor book from 189 institutional investors, including major domestic and international investors. These shares were allocated at ₹1,785 each. On the first day of bidding, there was participation from both institutional and retail investors. By 10:20 AM IST, bids were placed for about 0.09 times the shares available. Reports later in the morning indicated that subscription levels were increasing. As of the morning of September 17, the unofficial grey-market premium was approximately ₹125 per share. Please note that the grey-market premium (GMP) is an unofficial figure and may change before the listing. It does not guarantee the final listing price or returns.
