Company information
Company profile
Unitec Fibres Limited, originally incorporated as Unitec Fibres Private Limited in February 2005, was converted into a public limited company in June 2024. The Company is engaged in recycled polymer manufacturing and produces recycled Polyester Staple Fibre (rPSF) using post-consumer PET packaging and post-industrial polymer waste. Its manufacturing process includes sourcing raw materials across India, decontamination, refinement, polymer processing, extrusion, drawing and baling to produce customised fibres ranging from 0.9D to 20D, including solid, hollow conjugate and dope-dyed varieties. The Company uses processes such as sorting, crushing, hot washing, optical sorting and vacuum-assisted processing to maintain product quality and purity. It also follows a digital material traceability system with GRS-verified batch tracking, allowing materials to be tracked from collection through to finished fibre. With a pan-India raw material collection network and manufacturing locations positioned near major textile hubs, the Company also benefits from export connectivity through Mundra and Hazira ports. Unitec Fibres states a combined production capacity of approximately 52,000 MTPA.
Strengths
- Polyester Waste Recycling & Sustainable Products: The company uses polyester waste, PET waste and discarded PET bottles to manufacture RPSF. This helps convert plastic waste into reusable products while supporting sustainable practices.
- Strong Quality & Sustainability Certifications: The company holds certifications including ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015, OEKO-TEX® Eco-Passport and Global Recycled Standard (GRS) Version 4.0 . These certifications reflect its focus on product quality, safety and sustainable manufacturing.
- Strong Order Book & Sustained Demand: As of September 10, 2026 , the company had a confirmed order book of ₹1,902.86 lakh . Orders come from industries such as non-woven fabrics, home furnishings, automobiles and other industrial applications across domestic and international markets.
Risk factors
- Customer Concentration Risk: A significant share of revenue comes from a limited number of key customers, and the company does not have long-term contracts with them. Any drop in demand, customer loss or payment issues could affect revenue and cash flows.
- Dependence on Key Suppliers: The company relies on a limited number of suppliers for raw materials such as PET flakes, polyester waste, PET chips and PET bottles , without long-term supply agreements. Supply disruptions, price changes, quality issues or logistical and regulatory challenges could increase costs and affect production and margins.
- Manufacturing & Operational Risk: The company depends on its two manufacturing units at Tarapur, Maharashtra , with a combined installed capacity of 27,984 MTPA . Any shutdown, slowdown, strike, work stoppage or increase in labour costs could disrupt operations. The proposed Unit 3 at Valsad, Gujarat also adds expansion and execution-related risks.
