Company information

Company profile

Amir Chand Jagdish Kumar (Exports) Limited, established in 2003, is an Indian company engaged in processing and exporting basmati rice along with various FMCG food products. The company has fully integrated operations in the basmati rice value chain, covering procurement, storage, processing, marketing, and sales. Its products are divided into two main segments, where the rice segment includes basmati and other varieties such as kolam, sona masuri, idli, and ponni rice, while the FMCG segment includes staple items like aata, maida, sooji, besan, salt, and sugar. These products are sold under its main brand “Aeroplane” and several sub-brands. The company has a strong trademark portfolio in India and multiple international markets. Rice products are sold both in India and abroad, whereas FMCG products are mainly sold in the domestic market, with steady revenue growth in recent years. As of May 2025, the company exported to more than 37 countries, operated two manufacturing units in Punjab and Haryana, a packaging facility in New Delhi, and had around 225 permanent employees.

Strengths

  • Established Basmati Rice Brand: The flagship brand “Aeroplane,” launched over 40 years ago, has built strong recognition in India’s organized basmati rice market with 40+ sub-brands.
  • Strong Procurement Network: Extensive sourcing network across North India’s basmati-growing regions ensures timely procurement of quality paddy at competitive prices.
  • Wide Pan-India Distribution: A strong distribution network across general trade, modern trade, and e-commerce supports deep market penetration.

Risk factors

  • Working Capital Intensive Operations: Large seasonal procurement of basmati paddy requires significant working capital. Any shortage of funds may disrupt operations.
  • Dependence on Procurement Agents: Reliance on third-party agents without long-term contracts may affect timely sourcing of quality paddy.
  • Strict Quality Compliance Risk: Failure to meet domestic or international quality standards may lead to order cancellations and revenue loss.
